Extended Hours

There are several hubs located around South Worcestershire which Bredon Hill Surgery are working with to provide increased availability of pre-booked appointments outside of core practice hours (08:00 – 18:30). If you wish to use this service please advise the reception team when requesting an appointment

Dispensary delivery service for housebound patients

The service is designed to help our housebound patients who are unable to collect their medications from the surgery.

Deliveries are normally made on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Please contact a member of the dispensary team who will be pleased to assist if you wish to discuss this service

We regret we are not able to leave drug items unattended or with anybody other than the patient or their nominated carer.  Please also be advised we do not make return visits

We understand that sometimes the system for booking an appointment with a Doctor or nurse can be confusing so we would like to explain the different ways in which you can arrange an appointment.

At 8am each weekday morning the surgery telephone lines open and the online booking service release new appointments for that day. Doctor’s appointments are bookable 2 weeks in advance.

If you feel you need to see a Doctor on the day please advise the receptionist who will initially book you in for a telephone triage appointment with a Doctor. The triage telephone appointment will then allow the Doctor to advise if they wish to see you at the surgery, issue a prescription or arrange an onward referral

Nurses appointments – please contact reception

Medication Reviews - 2018

Patients who are prescribed repeat medication will have a medication review carried out by their GP.

Your medication review date is printed on the bottom of your repeat prescription ordering slip.

When your review is due please contact reception. The receptionist will advise your usual GP this is due. Your usual GP will then review your current medication(s). For some patients there may not be a need for you to see or speak to your GP. In these cases, your review date will automatically be updated on your repeat prescription slip.

If the Doctor does wish to see or speak with; you reception will contact you to confirm any appointments you need to book, for example blood tests, blood pressure check and arrange a follow up phone call or face to face appointment.

Book an appointment in the evening or at the weekend

In addition to the practice’s normal opening hours, and additional surgery opening times, you can also book an appointment to see a local clinician in the evenings or on Saturday and Sunday, at locations across South Worcestershire.  GP practices are working together to provide extended access appointments to our patients. This means that your extended access appointment may be with a different GP, nurse or based in a different location or practice than you are used to. Some of these appointments are telephone only.  These appointments are pre-bookable by contacting the surgery during our opening times – when calling please ask for an extended access appointment and our receptionists will help you to find a convenient appointment.

Please be advised that the receptionists have no control over the appointments that are available to book, however, we will endeavour to find a suitable appointment with a clinician of your choice.

We do welcome any feedback you may have and we are always looking for new ways to improve your experience as a patient.

If you do have an immediate concerns please e-mail SOWOCCG.bredonhillsurgery@nhs.net or contact the Practice Manage Angela Maile.
