Flu and covid vaccinations – Autumn 2024

Posted on:

We will be holding weekday, evening, and Saturday clinics.

We are vaccinating those most at risk, including the elderly and people who are immunosuppressed first and then people in priority order of risk.

Covid 19 boosters – The eligibility criteria has changed for this vaccine for Autumn 2024. Please visit the practice website news tab for further details

Invites are now being sent by text. There is a link to book.

If you do not have a mobile phone number on your records, WE WILL CONTACT YOU.

If you are eligible and by using the link to book you can have the covid vaccine or covid AND flu vaccine at the same appointment.

Flu only – We will be running separate clinics if you want to book a separate appointment at a different time to your covid vaccine or wish to have a flu vaccine only

If you are eligible for only the flu vaccine you will get an invite to book an appointment.

Children (FLU VACCINE)- we will send invites to the parent/guardian of eligible children via a text message to book a clinic.

Housebound patients – we will contact you and confirm when the nurse can visit.

Car parking – please can we ask you use local car parks in the village which are within walking distance of the surgery when attending a clinic. There are limited spaces which can be used for anyone with walking difficulties.

If you wish to have your vaccine administered in the car, please advise reception so we can ensure the nursing team are aware.

The National Booking Service are sending out invites on behalf of NHS England via text, e-mail, and post. This is run as a separate campaign offering you the choice of booking to go to a local centre.

If you do need to contact reception, please can we request you do so after 11.30am or later in the day. We need to keep phone lines available for patients who need to arrange to seek medical assistance.

If you have tested and you are covid positive as long as you do not have any symptoms you can have the vaccine without having to wait for the 28 day period after testing negative

If you are symptomatic and have an appointment booked please CALL and advise us. Please can we ask you DO NOT come to the surgery
