Place your order before you medication is due to run out.

Then allow 48 hours/ 2 working days before collection.

We appreciate you do not want a wasted trip, however; we are not able to take calls to confirm when your prescription is ready.

Follow Government Guidelines and stay at home. If you or a member of your Household has tested covid positive or you are waiting for a covid test result please do not come to the surgery to collect medication. A representative over the age of 16 can collect on your behalf. 

Extra Medication

Non-urgent advice: Notice

If you need to place your order early and/or request extra medication please add a note to your order to confirm the reason for the request e.g. going on holiday. If you order via patient access there is a space to add a note. If you are ordering extra medication please check you have everything when collectin


It is your responsibility to ensure you have provided us with the correct details.

Placing Orders 

Unfortunately, we are not taking requests for repeat prescriptions over the phone. If you do not have patient access to request your medication online, you can:

Order via your Chosen App – The system may prompt you to add a message before sending your request. You can enter any text to override this. All medication is dispensed at Bredon Hill Surgery unless you have a nominated pharmacy.

Please can we also request that if you need to request medication for a member of the family member who does not have patient access (for example a child) this request is sent via e-mail

Please be advised we do not currently confirm receipt of your e-mail. All requests will be dealt with on the day. E-mails received after 5 pm on a Friday may not be dealt with until Monday morning.

Repeat Slips/ Requests 

Can be posted in the black post box on the gate.

If you live within a mile of a retail pharmacy you will be a non-dispensing patient and you will be asked to nominate a pharmacy of your choice for your medication requests to be sent to.

Collection – A representative over the age of 16 can collect on your behalf. Please advise the representative of the number of items they are collecting if possible. Please be reminded if you are sending a representative to collect controlled drugs they will need to provide a photo ID – Driving license or passport.

Hospital Prescriptions

If you are given a paper prescription by a consultant or clinician at a hospital appointment we are not able to dispense this from the surgery. Please take the prescription to the onsite pharmacy at the hospital or a local pharmacy.

If the medication prescribed is to continue, the hospital will write to the surgery and we will deal with the request once received.

Delivery service for housebound patients

  • The service is designed to help our housebound patients who are unable to collect their medications from the surgery.
  • Deliveries are normally made on Wednesdays and Thursdays (once a month)
  • Please contact a member of the dispensary team who will be pleased to assist if you wish to discuss this service.
  • We regret we are not able to leave drug items unattended or with anybody other than the patient or their nominated carer unless this is agreed with a member of the dispensary team.  Please also be advised we do not make return visits.
